Community Standards
Our Values
Muslim Myrtle Beach was built on the belief that a strong, well-informed Muslim community is better when it works together. The reviews, listings, and conversations on this Site are contributed by real people in and around the Grand Strand, and we want that to remain something the community can trust.
These Community Standards reflect the values we hold: honesty, respect, helpfulness, and accountability. We ask everyone who uses this Site, business owners, reviewers, and visitors alike, to uphold them.
Writing Reviews
Reviews are the heartbeat of this directory. To keep them valuable:
- Only review businesses you have actually visited or used. First-hand experience is the only valid basis for a review.
- Be specific and helpful. What did you order? Was the halal certification prominently displayed? Were there prayer facilities nearby? Specific details help other community members make informed decisions.
- Be fair. One bad experience on a busy night does not define a restaurant. Rate based on your honest overall impression.
- No fake reviews. Do not submit reviews in exchange for payment, discounts, or favors. Do not submit reviews for businesses you own or manage, or reviews intended to harm a competitor.
- Do not reveal personal information about staff or other customers in your review.
Content Standards
All content submitted to Muslim Myrtle Beach, reviews, listing descriptions, messages, or any other form, must meet these standards:
- Accurate, true to the best of your knowledge and not intentionally misleading
- Relevant, about the business, service, or topic at hand, not a tangential complaint
- Original, your own words, not copied from another site
- Appropriate, suitable for a family-friendly, faith-conscious community
Content that is not permitted:
- Profanity, vulgarity, or sexually explicit content
- Hate speech targeting any race, religion, nationality, gender, or other protected characteristic
- Personal attacks, threats, or harassment directed at any individual
- Spam, promotional content, or unsolicited advertising
- Content that violates anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or legal rights
Respectful Conduct
Even in disagreement, we expect respectful conduct. A negative experience at a business is valid, but the way you express it matters. You can be honest without being cruel.
Remember that business listings often represent small family-owned operations serving our community. Constructive criticism (“the halal sign was not visible and I had to ask twice”) is far more useful, and more Islamic in character, than an attack (“worst place I have ever been, avoid at all costs”).
Accuracy and Honesty
If you are not sure about something, whether a restaurant is halal, whether a mosque offers wudu facilities, whether a business is Muslim-owned, say so in your review rather than stating it as fact. Inaccurate information on a directory like this can mislead community members in ways that matter.
If you notice incorrect information in a listing (wrong address, outdated hours, incorrect halal status), please report it using the “Report a Problem” feature or contact us directly. We rely on the community to help keep this directory accurate.
Reporting Violations
If you see content or behavior on Muslim Myrtle Beach that violates these Community Standards, please report it.
- Use the “Report a Problem” button on any listing or review page
- Email us at [email protected] with the specific listing or review URL and a description of the issue
We review all reports and take action where warranted. False or malicious reports themselves violate these standards.
Consequences
Violations of these Community Standards may result in:
- Content being edited or removed without notice
- A warning sent to your account
- Temporary suspension of your ability to submit reviews or listings
- Permanent account termination for serious or repeated violations
We do not take these actions lightly, but we take the integrity of this community seriously. If you believe an action taken against your account was in error, contact us and we will review your case.
